General Project Description

This project involves the replacement of noncompliant plumbing fixtures and appliances across sixteen (16) sites within the Alhambra Unified School District. It is part of the California Schools Healthy Air, Plumbing, and Efficiency Program (CalSHAPE), funded via Assembly Bill No. 841, to ensure systems meet ENERGY STAR and water efficiency requirements. The scope includes replacing noncompliant toilets, urinals, interior faucets, and commercial clothes washers. The contractor is responsible for verifying existing conditions, procuring replacement fixtures according to CalSHAPE and AUSD standards, and providing all required documentation and installation verification for project closeout.

Potentially longer vacuum breaker tailpieces if needed due to height differences.

Installation includes new faucet connectors (e.g., Fluidmaster 3/8" x 1/2" x 20"). All restrooms will have Chicago 333 series faucets. All classrooms will have Chicago 350 series faucets. Only manual fixtures are to be installed (no automatic flush/faucet sensors).

Specifications: New commercial clothes washers must be high-efficiency LG Front Load commercial grade, ENERGY STAR Certified, and sized like-for-like (e.g., LG WM4000). Specifics for ice makers and clothes washers left to contractor's discretion, subject to District approval.
Quantity: - Unit: - Work Item: General demolition, cleanup, and disposal of all removed materials. Specifications: Remove all old installation materials, trash, or plumbing components from service in compliance with local ordinances, standards, and requirements, ensuring they are not resold or reinstalled. Contractor to maintain a clean work site daily.
Quantity: - Unit: - Work Item: Permits, Project Management, and Compliance. Specifications: Obtain all necessary permits, ensure work complies with California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act ("CUPCCAA"), maintain certified payroll records, adhere to Cal/OSHA and OSHPD safety requirements, verify background clearances for all employees, and submit comprehensive closeout documentation including Operations and Maintenance manuals and Warranty documentation.
