General Project Description

The City of Atwater is requesting proposals from qualified firms for city-wide weed abatement, discing, mowing, lot clearing, and rubbish removal services. The contractor will perform these services as directed by the Fire Marshal's Office on an as-needed basis, complying with applicable local, state, and federal codes. Tasks include cutting vegetation to a height of no more than six inches, establishing disc firebreaks, trimming edges along public rights-of-way, trimming trees near structures for fire clearance, and removing tall weeds, grasses, and brush that pose a fire hazard. Lot clearing and rubbish removal involve removing and properly disposing of trash, combustible materials, brush, green waste, and other vegetation creating fire hazards. All work must minimize soil erosion, drainage problems, and excessive dust hazards, and properties must be left clean, safe, and free of hazards upon completion.
