General Project Description

The City of Bakersfield is soliciting bids from qualified and experienced firms for comprehensive stadium field maintenance services at the Bakersfield Sports Village (BSV) Stadium Field in Bakersfield, CA. The contract requires the successful bidder to furnish all necessary labor, equipment, tools, materials, chemicals, supplies, and transportation. The scope of work includes routine turf maintenance (mowing at specified heights for playing and non-playing areas, sweeping), annual core aeration with top-dressing and dragging, seasonal overseeding of high-wear areas, ongoing weed control (treatment within 48 hours of detection), soil testing and prescribed fertilizer applications, and continuous monitoring and repair of the irrigation system. An optional additive bid item covers football field painting, including layout of yard lines and hash marks, with all equipment, materials, and labor provided. Maintenance activities are to be performed annually from February 1st through November 15th during normal park hours. The contract has an initial term of three years with two additional one-year renewal options.
