General Project Description
The Baldwin Park Unified School District is seeking proposals from qualified solid waste management firms to provide comprehensive, integrated district-wide waste, recycling, and organic services for all school sites. The project aims to improve operational efficiency, control costs, enhance recycling, composting, and landfill diversion programs to reduce overall waste disposal, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local waste-reduction regulations, including California's AB 341, AB 827, AB 1826, and SB 1383. The scope of work includes solid waste collection and disposal, implementation and maintenance of district-wide recycling and organics (green and food waste) programs, furnishing and servicing containers, performing waste audits, providing emergency call-out services, and implementing local student internship and scholarship programs.
