General Project Description

The Burbank -Glendale- Pasadena Airport Authority is seeking design-build services to replace two existing passenger elevators in a parking structure at the Hollywood Burbank Airport. The parking structure is being repurposed from valet storage to self-park use, requiring fully operational, reliable, and modern elevator systems. The project involves the demolition and removal of the existing elevator systems, followed by the design, procurement, and installation of two new 3500 lbs capacity, 200 fpm machine room-less traction passenger elevators. The scope includes all necessary electrical, lighting, and fire protection upgrades, architectural modifications (including CMU wall saw-cutting, patching, and finishing), structural validation, and ensuring full compliance with current codes, standards, and ADA requirements by the targeted public occupancy date of October 13, 2026. This also includes the provision of various elevator components such as new cabs (with a $40,000 per cab interior allowance), control systems, safety devices, hoistway entrances, and related electrical and communication systems. The contractor is responsible for all permits, site protection, and compliance with environmental regulations.
