General Bid Items

• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Removal and proper disposal of all existing gutters, downspouts, hangers, and associated items around the building, taking precautions to avoid damage to the roof, fascia, and surrounding areas.
• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Inspection of fascia boards and surrounding areas for dry rot or other structural damage once old gutters are removed.
• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Remediation of affected dry rot areas, Specifications: removing damaged portions, treating wood to prevent further deterioration, and replacing damaged sections with new, treated wood according to industry standards. (Approval by DMV Project Manager required).
• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Installation of new rain gutters, Specifications: fabricated to required cross-section, with end pieces, outlet tubes and accessories as required. Fabricated in minimum 96” long sections, metal thickness according to SMACNA Architectural Sheet Metal Manual, with further gutter supports spaced a maximum of 36”. Joints riveted, soldered, or lapped and sealed. Provide end closures and seal watertight with sealant for thermal expansion.
• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Furnishing and installation of flat-stock gutter brackets and flat-stock gutter spacers and straps, Specifications: fabricated from same metal as gutters, thickness not less than twice the gutter thickness.
• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Fabrication and installation of expansion joints and gutter accessories, Specifications: from same metal as gutters, formed from same material as roof panels.
• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Installation of new downspouts, Specifications: fabricated in 10’ long sections complete with formed elbows and offsets. Finish to match gutters. Join sections with telescoping joints. Provide fasteners designed to hold downspouts securely 1” away from walls, located at top, bottom, and approximately 60” in between.
• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Provide elbows at base of downspouts to direct water away from building.
• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Connect downspouts to underground drainage system indicated.
• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: As-needed painting for replaced wood (if required due to dry rot) and touch-ups, Specifications: best quality grade of specific types of water-based paint and primer sealers from Dunn-Edwards, Sinclair, Fuller O'Brien, or approved equal. No oil-based or high VOC materials.
• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Protection of prefinished surfaces, lawns, shrubbery, adjacent surfaces, equipment, and fixtures against paint and damage during work.
• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Cleanup, touch-up, and refinishing of painted surfaces, Specifications: remove all spattering, spots, blemishes, runs, sags, misses, holidays, stains, and other defects; remove all rubbish, paint cans, and accumulated materials; leave all areas clean and orderly.
