General Project Description
The California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet) is seeking qualified vendors for water management, testing, and remediation services at the Veterans Home of California - Barstow. The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary labor, materials, staff, transportation, licenses, and permits. The scope includes developing and annually updating a comprehensive water management plan to mitigate exposure to legionella and other opportunistic waterborne pathogens. Key tasks involve conducting an initial four-hour risk assessment for high-risk water systems (e.g., showers, sink faucets, drinking fountains, ice machines, water heaters, storage tanks, pools, cooling towers), performing quarterly analytical water sampling, testing, analysis, and reporting for hot water/drinking water, and implementing remediation response protocols, which include emergency sampling, follow-up sampling, and supplying EPA/CalDPR registered chemicals and equipment for potable water use. The contractor will coordinate closely with the CalVet Program Team and ensure all services comply with federal and state laws and regulations.
