General Project Description

The Department of California Highway Patrol (CHP) is soliciting bids for firms to provide monthly Integrated Pest and Vermin Control Services for the CHP Needles Area Office. The scope of work involves furnishing all necessary supplies, materials, tools, equipment, labor, personnel, and supervision to provide comprehensive pest control (including mites, silverfish, earwigs, sow bugs, centipedes, bees, millipedes, ants, spiders, cockroaches, scorpions, fleas) and vermin control (gophers, mice, rats, ground squirrels). Services are to be performed inside and outside all buildings on the premises, with routine work scheduled after normal working hours. The contractor must adhere to a tiered approach for chemical use, starting with non-chemical or biological, moving to Tier 3, then Tier 2, and finally Tier 1 herbicides/insecticides if less hazardous options are ineffective. General services include removal of nests/feces, proper disposal of dead animals, debris removal, use of traps/EPA registered baits, and call-back services.
