General Project Description

The Department of California Highway Patrol (CHP) is seeking bids from firms to provide monthly Integrated Pest and Vermin Control Services for its Barstow Area Office. The project encompasses furnishing all necessary supplies, materials, tools, equipment, labor, personnel, and supervision for pest management, covering various insects (e.g., mites, spiders, ants, cockroaches, fleas) and vermin (e.g., gophers, mice, rats, ground squirrels) both inside and outside the facility. The contractor is required to prioritize non-chemical or biological treatments, escalating to tier-rated herbicides/insecticides only when necessary, in accordance with Exhibit A. Key responsibilities include debris removal, proper disposal of small dead animals, and providing a 24-hour call-back service.

General Bid Items

Quantity: 36 Unit: MONTHLY SERVICE Work Item: Integrated Pest and Vermin Control Services for CHP Barstow Area Office. Furnish all supplies, materials, tools, equipment, labor, personnel, and supervision; pay all taxes, insurance, bonds, license and permit fees, and all other direct and indirect costs.
Quantity: LS Unit: LS Work Item: Pest Control. Target mites, silverfish, earwigs, sow bugs, centipedes, bees, millipedes, ants, spiders, cockroaches, scorpions, fleas, and all other pests (excluding termites); use non-chemical/biological odorless/low odor treatment, moving to Tier 3, then Tier 2, then Tier 1 herbicides/insecticides if necessary.
Quantity: LS Unit: LS Work Item: Vermin Control. Elimination of gophers, mice, rats, ground squirrels, and any other vermin outside and within the building to be serviced; use traps and/or EPA registered baits during regular monthly service (subject to CHP pre-approval).
Quantity: LS Unit: LS Work Item: Interior and Outbuildings Treatment. Pest and vermin control service shall include all interior spaces and outbuildings on the premises.
Quantity: LS Unit: LS Work Item: Nests and Feces Removal. Remove all nests or feces mounds throughout the buildings and use a strong disinfectant for area decontamination.
Quantity: LS Unit: LS Work Item: Small Dead Animal Disposal. Place carcass in tamper-proof or resistant plastic bag and dispose of properly.
Quantity: LS Unit: LS Work Item: Call-back Service. Respond to requests for service between regular monthly service periods at no additional cost within twenty-four (24) hours; requires a physical appearance of Contractor's representative for service as directed by CHP. Saturday response may be necessary if an emergency request is made on Friday.
Quantity: LS Unit: LS Work Item: Damage Repair/Replacement. Repair or replace any damage caused to state equipment, materials, or property (buildings, premises, equipment, furniture) at no cost to the state.
Quantity: LS Unit: LS Work Item: Debris Removal and Recycling. Contain all trash and debris in a confined area, remove and dispose of all debris and surplus materials at no additional cost; all materials must be recycled whenever possible; monies collected from recycling to be remitted to CHP.
