General Project Description
The Department of California Highway Patrol (CHP) is soliciting bids for Integrated Pest and Vermin Control Services for the CHP Needles Area Office. The project's purpose is to provide monthly pest and vermin control services, including furnishing all necessary supplies, materials, tools, equipment, labor, personnel, and supervision. The scope covers the control of various pests such as mites, silverfish, earwigs, sow bugs, centipedes, bees, millipedes, ants, spiders, cockroaches, scorpions, and fleas (excluding termites). Vermin control targets gophers, mice, rats, and ground squirrels, both outside and within the building. The contractor is required to prioritize non-chemical or biological, odorless/low odor treatments, escalating to tier-rated herbicides/insecticides only when necessary (Tier 3 to Tier 1). Additional work includes removing nests and feces with disinfectant, proper disposal of small dead animals in tamper-proof bags, and providing call-back services within 24 hours at no additional cost. The agreement is for regular monthly service over an estimated 36-month term.
