General Project Description

The project aims to secure annual maintenance and sixth-year certification services for portable fire extinguishers for the California Military Department (CMD) at 701 East Yosemite Ave, Madera, CA. This extensive service ensures all extinguishers comply with California Code of Regulations (CCR) Title 19 and NFPA 10 Portable Fire Extinguishers standards for operational readiness and life safety. The contractor is responsible for visual inspections, specific sixth-year internal maintenance (discharge, interior inspection, refilling, repressurization, weighing, labeling), applying certification tags, and providing detailed reports. The complete service duration is 60 working days post Notice to Proceed.

Quantity: 1 Unit: UNIT Work Item: Application of California State Fire Marshal (CSFM)-approved certification tags for each annually inspected unit.
Quantity: 1 Unit: UNIT Work Item: Sixth-year internal maintenance of portable fire extinguishers (as needed, per NFPA 10), including full discharge of contents, internal visual inspection of cylinder and parts for corrosion or clumping, refilling with correct extinguishing agent, re-pressurization, weighing, and labeling.
Quantity: 1 Unit: UNIT Work Item: Application of CSFM-approved six-year maintenance labels for units undergoing sixth-year internal maintenance.
Quantity: 1 Unit: LS Work Item: Provision of a detailed inspection and maintenance report, including for each unit: serial number, type and agent, size (pounds), location, condition, services performed, and date of next required 6-year or 12-year maintenance.
Quantity: 1 Unit: LS Work Item: Identification and documentation of extinguishers that are out of compliance, requiring recharge, due for hydrostatic testing, or condemned/recommended for replacement.
Quantity: 1 Unit: LS Work Item: Servicing of various types and sizes of fire extinguishers, including but not limited to ABC (5lb, 10lb, 20lb), Purple K (5lb, 10lb, 20lb), Halo (5lb, 20lb), 2-A-K (6L), and Sodium Bicarb (5lb, 10lb).
