General Project Description

This project involves the modification and installation of Traffic Management System (TMS) elements on state highways at various locations within Los Angeles County. The scope includes general construction, temporary traffic control, environmental stewardship, earthwork, surfacings and pavements (asphalt concrete), structures (piling, sign foundations), and extensive electrical work for traffic control devices, signs, and markers. Specific tasks detailed in bid items range from lead compliance, critical path scheduling, temporary traffic management systems (signs, stripes, channelizers, crash cushions, portable radar feedback signs), water pollution control, and job site management to specialized electrical installations such as fiber optic cable systems, camera systems, changeable message signs, ramp metering systems, and traffic monitoring stations. It also includes roadside clearing, maintaining/removing planted areas, wood mulching, checking/operating/removing irrigation facilities, placement/removal of pavement markers, and furnishing/installing/removing various types of roadside signs and sign structures, along with minor concrete work, asphalt concrete paving, soil excavation (including aerially deposited lead), and handling of treated wood waste.
