General Project Description

This project involves the removal of two existing commercial-grade roll-up doors and the furnishing and installation of two new commercial-grade rolling steel doors with operators and one wicket door at the Caltrans District 32 Equipment Shop 8 in San Bernardino, CA. The scope includes providing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, travel, supplies, parts, disposal fees, and necessary permits to complete the work in accordance with STD 213, Exhibit A, Scope of Work. New doors must include specific ventilation, insulation, safety features, and a desert sand color, with wicket door hardware keyed to match. All work must comply with applicable building codes and industry standards.

Quantity: 1 Unit: LS Work Item: Furnish and install two (2) new commercial grade 'drum' style roll-up doors including assemblies and operators and one (1) Wicket door to Caltrans, per STD 213, Exhibit A, Scope of Work. Specifications: Two (2) commercial heavy-duty rolling steel doors with insulated sectional steel and all related hardware. New doors to include three (3) vents of three (3) inches in diameter, evenly spaced on the bottom panel, with nine (9) vents (3" diameter x 1" height, stacked 3 slats, totaling 54 sq. inches). Polyethylene insulation or equivalent. One (1) left roll-up door: 19 ft. 7 inches width by 15 ft. 10 inches height. One (1) right roll-up door: 16 ft. 3 inches width by 15 ft. 10 inches height. One (1) Wicket door fitted with commercial type lock and handle assembly (Schlage ALX53L-SAT or equivalent), commercial dead bolt (Schlage B250R or equivalent), keyed to match (roll-up doors and wicket door). Each roll-up and Wicket door to have a weather strip on the bottom. Pneumatic safety reversing strip edges or an electronic monitored reversing edge system. Color: Desert Sand or equivalent. New track to be securely installed to the wall and interior/exterior structure per manufacturer recommendations, using existing attachment points. Two (2) new chain hoist motor operators with safety photo eyes. Operator specifications: Floor level chain hoist with electrical interlock for emergency manual door operation; Three (3) button control station (open/close/stop); High starting torque continuous-duty motor with overload protection; 24VAC control circuit for safety; Adjustable friction clutches to prevent damage if door is obstructed; Limit switch to stop door at open/close position; Self-locking drive mechanism.
