Unofficial Notice of Invitation to Bid (NIB)
California State Dept of Transportation (CalTrans) is seeking bids from qualified and interested contractors for the following project titled, Chiller Removal and Installation Services, identified under Solicitation ID: 03A4094. Work is to be performed near 3165 Gold Valley Dr, Rancho Cordova, CA 95742, USA in Sacramento County.
General Project Description
This project involves the removal and legal disposal of two existing Trane RTAA Air Cooled Screw Chiller units (125-Ton) and the installation of two equivalent new 125-ton chiller units. The scope includes furnishing all necessary labor, equipment, tools, parts, materials, supplies, permits, disposal fees, travel, and incidentals. The installation covers all associated components such as chiller disconnects, auto-actuated valves, temperature sensors, chiller water pumps with their disconnect sub-panels, chiller pipe insulation, electrical supply, plumbing, conduit, wiring, new HOA switch panels for water pumps, chilled water lines, new water valves, actuators, and temperature gauges. The contractor is also responsible for refrigerant recovery, flushing lines, pressure testing chilled water lines, connecting and programming new chillers to the Building Management System (BMS), system startup, refrigerant charge balancing, voltage verification, chilled water top-off, air venting, and providing operational controls training and manuals to facility engineers. All work must comply with state and local requirements, EPA Section 608 of the Clean Air Act, Uniform Mechanical Code, International Mechanical Code, and Electrical Codes.

- Quantity: 1 Unit: Each Work Item: All labor, tools, materials, parts, supplies, equipment, vehicles, travel, and incidentals necessary for the first installation of one (1) new Contractor furnished chiller, including all associated electrical supply, plumbing, and components, per STD 213, Exhibit A, Scope of Work.
- Quantity: 1 Unit: Each Work Item: All labor, tools, materials, parts, supplies, equipment, vehicles, travel, and incidentals necessary for the second installation of one (1) new Contractor furnished chiller, including all associated electrical supply, plumbing, and components, per STD 213, Exhibit A, Scope of Work.
- Quantity: 8 Unit: Per Hour Work Item: Hourly rate to include all labor, tools, equipment, travel, and any incidentals necessary to effectuate unforeseen work related to the hidden defects for chiller and components, per STD 213, Exhibit A, Scope of Work.
- Quantity: 1 Unit: LS Work Item: Subtotal (Sum of Items 1-4).
- Quantity: 1 Unit: LS Work Item: Maximum allowable expenditure for all parts, materials, supplies, fees, and permits per Exhibit A, Item 8. Actual cost will be reimbursed based on submitted original receipts. This Amount Shall be 10 percent (10%) of the Actual Subtotal Amount (0.10 x Subtotal).
