General Project Description

This project involves the replacement and restoration of non-functioning inductive loop, stub out, and Detector Lead-In Cable (DLC) to "as-built" condition within various state highway rights-of-way and Caltrans facilities in Orange County, California. The scope of work includes sawcutting, repairing, and replacing inductive loops, pull boxes, pull box covers, lids, and conduit. The contractor is responsible for furnishing all necessary labor, tools, materials, equipment, traffic control (including flaggers), permits, and disposal services for both routine and non-routine maintenance and repair requests over an estimated agreement term from March 16, 2026, to March 15, 2029.

Quantity: 25 Unit: Each Work Item: All labor, tools, materials, equipment, travel, disposal, incidentals, and permits needed to saw cut hole, saw cut trench, wire, label, seal, test and terminate a Vehicle Sensor Node (VSN). Specifications: per STD 213, Exhibit A, Scope of Work.
Quantity: 3 Unit: Each Work Item: All labor, tools, materials, equipment, travel, disposal, incidentals, and permits needed to replace Pull Box. Specifications: #3 ½, #3 ½ Traffic Rated, #5, #5 Traffic Rated, #6, #6 Traffic Rated with installation of theft deterrent pull box lid and to include stub outs if necessary, per STD 213, Exhibit A, Scope of Work.
Quantity: 3 Unit: Each Work Item: All labor, tools, materials, equipment, travel, disposal, incidentals, and permits needed to replace Pull Box new cover. Specifications: #3 ½, #3 ½ Traffic Rated, #5, #5 Traffic Rated, #6, #6 Traffic Rated with pull box new cover and to include stub outs if necessary, per STD 213, Exhibit A, Scope of Work.
Quantity: 3 Unit: Each Work Item: All labor, tools, materials, equipment, travel, disposal, incidentals, and permits needed to install theft deterrent pull box lid in existing pull box. Specifications: Type 1, Type 2, Type 9, Type 9A. Type 9 and Type 9A will include a new dust cover with tamper proof screws per STD 213, Exhibit A, Scope of Work.
Quantity: 100 Unit: Per Foot Work Item: All labor, tools, materials, equipment, travel, disposal, incidentals, and permits needed to Trench/Boring, repair or replace up to four (4) inch rigid conduit (PVC/metal) including caps, bushings, couplings, fittings, pull tape, backfill and terminating the conduit in pull boxes, foundations, poles, or a structure.
Quantity: 1000 Unit: Per Foot Work Item: All labor, tools, materials, equipment, travel, disposal, incidentals, and permits needed to Install, Run, Splice, and terminate Detector Lead- in Cable Type B (DLC Cable) from loop stub out pull box to the controller cabinet. Specifications: per STD 213, Exhibit A, Scope of Work.
Quantity: 3 Unit: Each Work Item: All labor, tools, materials, equipment, travel, disposal, incidentals, and permits needed to replace stub out at the pull box (when no pull box replacement occurs) including bushings, duct seal, splicing, conductors, sawcut, backfill. Specifications: with soil, asphalt and/or concrete per STD 213, Exhibit A, Scope of Work.
Quantity: 80 Unit: Per Hour Work Item: All labor, devices, tools, equipment, travel, work signs, incidentals, and vehicles needed to provide Traffic Control (Day or Night), including City Streets. Specifications: per STD 213, Exhibit A, Scope of Work.
