General Project Description

The project requires a contractor to provide on-call traffic control services to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) across various Bay Area counties (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Solano, Sonoma, and San Mateo). The scope includes supplying all necessary expertise, labor, tools, materials, equipment, supplies, fuel, personal safety gear, equipment delivery and pick-up fees, travel, licenses, permits, and incidentals. Services involve placing and maintaining traffic control devices, providing qualified crew members (minimum of two per request), and equipment such as truck-mounted attenuators (TMA), trucks for cone placement/retrieval, and changeable message signs. All work must conform to State, Federal Law, Caltrans policies, and procedures, primarily the 2014 California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and Caltrans Standard Plans and Specifications.
