General Project Description

This project involves the replacement of existing culvert systems at various locations along State Highway 198 in Monterey County. The scope includes the removal of existing Corrugated Steel Pipe (CSP) culverts, installation of new Aluminum/Polymer Coated (APC) culverts, associated earthwork, structure backfill using slurry cement, saw cutting of existing pavement, and placing new Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) and Class 2 Aggregate Base. Temporary traffic control measures, including portable transverse rumble strips and stationary impact attenuator vehicles, will also be required throughout the construction period.
