California State Dept of Transportation (CalTrans) is seeking bids from qualified and interested contractors for the following project titled, Sidewalk Removal and Replacement Services, identified under Solicitation ID: 56A0882. Work is to be performed near 1900 Royal Oaks Dr, Sacramento, CA 95815, USA in Sacramento County.

General Project Description

This project involves the removal and replacement of existing sidewalks, curbs, and gutters within Sacramento County, specifically at the Caltrans Headquarters Maintenance Warehouse. The scope includes providing all necessary labor, tools, materials, supplies, equipment, working drawings, and permits. Key tasks encompass site preparation, arborist evaluation for tree root conflicts, signage for pedestrian safety, removal and legal off-site disposal of concrete sidewalk, curb, gutter, and associated components (drainages, hydrants, lighting, pull boxes), cleaning and leveling the area, and installing new concrete sidewalk (4-inch thick), 6-inch thick curb and gutter, and driveway entrances, using grade type concrete and reinstalling removed street components. The contract also provides for hourly unforeseen work.

Specifications: Evaluation of tree health, structural integrity, and species tolerance to root disturbance by a certified arborist. Specifications: Provision of all signs and pedestrian safety devices (barricades, cones) and pedestrian detour route signage to comply with Temporary Pedestrian Access Routes of the Standard Specifications. Specifications: Removal and legal off-site disposal of approximately 800 linear feet of existing concrete sidewalk, curb, and gutter. Specifications: Removal of any tree roots determined by a certified arborist. Specifications: Removal of additional components such as street drainages, fire hydrants, street lighting, underground pull boxes. Specifications: Thorough cleaning and leveling of uneven areas, removing any debris or loose material. Specifications: Installation of approximately 800 linear feet of six (6)-inch- thick curb and gutter and four (4)-inch- thick sidewalk using grade type concrete in compliance with California industry standards. Specifications: Installation of approximately 50 linear feet of driveway entrance. Specifications: Reinstallation of previously removed additional components (street drainages, fire hydrants, street lighting underground pull boxes). Specifications: Removal and disposal of excavated earth and spoils.
