General Project Description

This project involves construction on a state highway in Glenn County, near Butte City, spanning from 0.1 mile east of McDougal Street to the Glenn County Line (Route 162). The general work description includes double chip seal, hot mix asphalt (HMA) paving, and cold plane asphalt concrete (AC) pavement. Key activities encompass lead compliance, time-related overhead, setup of construction area signs and traffic control systems (including portable changeable message signs and automated flagger assistance), job site management, water pollution control, and street sweeping. Material work includes shoulder backing, sand cover for sealing, asphaltic emulsion for fog and polymer seal coats, aggregate for seal coats, and hot mix asphalt (Type A). Pavement rehabilitation involves removal and cold planing of asphalt concrete pavement. Traffic control device installations include retroreflective pavement markers, removal and furnishing of various single sheet aluminum roadside signs, installation of one and two post roadside signs, and comprehensive thermoplastic pavement marking and striping (including enhanced wet night visibility, broken patterns, and removal of existing markings). Lastly, the project includes the installation of 12-inch asphalt concrete rumble strips and traffic stripe tape with contrast (with warranty).
