General Project Description
The Castaic Union School District, under its Measure QS Bond Program, is seeking qualified firms for Materials Testing and Inspection Services for the Castaic Elementary School Modernization project. The project scope encompasses pre-construction services, including plan and specification review and testing/inspection schedule coordination; construction services, featuring various material tests and inspections such as soil compaction, concrete and masonry testing (including structural steel), rebar testing, welding inspections, pull and torque testing, and paving tests; and post-construction services, involving the submission of all required reports, logs, and DSA close-out documentation. The modernization itself includes interior alterations to Administration Building A, K3-TK, Special Education, Preschool, and Library spaces, ADA improvements to site paths of travel, drinking fountains, and restrooms at Building B, miscellaneous site work, construction of a new shade structure, playground equipment, and outdoor signage with electronic displays.
