General Project Description
The City of Chino Hills is soliciting proposals for on-call biological monitoring services to ensure compliance with state and federal environmental regulations for various drainage facilities and other areas within the City. The services cover approximately 18 drainage facilities, totaling 4.1 acres, and aim to protect threatened and/or endangered species, nesting birds, and sensitive habitats, including California Walnut Woodland, Coastal Sage Scrub, Oak Woodland, and Freshwater Emergent Wetland. The scope of work involves reviewing project-related documents, identifying and minimizing environmental impacts, providing on-site guidance to City staff and contractors, conducting pre-construction surveys, documenting observations and recommendations, reporting non-compliance to regulatory agencies, and preparing annual summary reports. The monitoring is expected for areas where activities like herbicide application, vegetation removal, clearing, and trimming around inlets and drainage infrastructure will occur to maintain proper operation and drainage.
