General Project Description
This project involves the construction of a new modular classroom building at Egling Middle School, encompassing all site work, foundation, and building construction as per drawings and specifications by Eagle Architects. The scope includes selective demolition of existing structures and components, comprehensive site clearing, grubbing, earth moving (excavation, backfill, grading), and soil compaction. Concrete work covers forming, reinforcing, and cast-in-place concrete for slabs-on-grade, driveways, roadways, curbs, gutters, walkways, and plazas, meeting specific compressive strength and slump requirements. Asphalt paving for driveways and roadways, including aggregate base course and crack/slurry sealing, is also part of the work. Metal fabrications involve miscellaneous components, bollards, and steel sign posts. Thermal and moisture protection includes sheet metal flashing and trim and joint sealing with specified warranties. Interior and exterior painting will utilize low VOC materials. Utility work entails nondestructive location and marking of underground utilities, installation of water distribution systems, sanitary sewers, and storm utility drainage piping, adhering to relevant codes and standards. The project emphasizes construction waste management, aiming for at least 50% diversion of materials from landfills, and incorporates requirements for recycled content and regionally sourced materials.
