General Project Description

The project, "Better Overland Project Phase 1 (PS029)," involves furnishing all necessary labor, services, materials, and equipment to provide a complete and acceptable project, focusing on bicycle and pedestrian improvements on Overland Avenue. The scope includes mobilization, traffic control, removal of existing pavement markings, signs, trees, and landscaping, installation of new roadside signs and parking meter posts, various Caltrans standard detail installations for pavement markings, construction of continental crosswalks, utility potholing, furnishing and installing multiple types of traffic signal poles and foundations, traffic signal equipment, removal and construction of PCC curb ramps (including ADA-compliant detectable warning surfaces), removal of street lights and pull boxes, tree installation, removal and construction of asphalt concrete pavement over a crushed aggregate base, relocation of water meters, adjustment of manholes to grade, and construction of concrete barrier curbs. The work involves extensive civil engineering, utility protection, and adherence to Caltrans and local standards.
