General Project Description

This project involves flood reduction and sea level rise resiliency improvements within the City of Eureka's Stormwater Basins E, F, and G, located North and South of Del Norte Street. The work generally includes the replacement of existing storm drain pipes with larger capacity pipes (24-48 inch diameter), installation of approximately 3,700 lineal feet of new storm drain pipes (36-42 inch diameter), and associated manholes, junction boxes, outfall headwalls, wingwalls, and tide gates. It also entails rock slope protection, grading of new and existing tidal channels, relocation of 6-inch to 10-inch diameter gravity sewer lines and associated manholes, raising and lowering sections of water and sewer laterals and lines, and the procurement and installation of stormwater trash capture devices and a hydrodynamic separator. Additional tasks include the removal, stockpiling, and disposal of excavated material, excavation and placement of marsh soils on low-lying marsh lands, and hydroseeding.
