General Project Description

This project involves the supply and installation of new synthetic turf fields and running tracks at American High School and Kennedy High School. The scope includes demolition of existing natural grass fields and decomposed granite tracks, comprehensive grading and subgrade preparation (including lime treatment), trenching and backfill for various utilities (stormwater, sanitary sewer, potable water, fire, irrigation, electrical, communication), installation of synthetic turf permeable base (geotextile fabric, nailer board), asphalt paving, concrete work (pavements, sidewalks, curbs, landscape walls, fence post footings), the synthetic turf system itself (low-friction, polyethylene-blended fibers, infill, shock/drain pads, field striping, logos, endzone lettering), synthetic running track surfacing (duel-durometer polyurethane system with seal coat, crumb polyurethane texture, lines, event markings), miscellaneous athletic surfacing (shotput/discus sector decomposed granite with stabilizing mix, long/triple jump pit sand, geotextile fabric), chain link fencing (vinyl coated black and galvanized), decorative metal fences and gates, complete automatic underground irrigation systems, stormwater drainage utilities (CHDPE pipes, cleanouts, catch basins, trench/slot drains, geotextile fabric, drain stone), and planting (plant materials, soil amendments, seeding, hydromulching, tree staking, root barriers). The contractor is responsible for site inspection, verifying quantities, and compliance with all relevant codes and specifications.
