Gardena City is seeking bids from qualified and interested contractors for the following project titled, PEDESTRIAN SAFETY IMPROVEMENT 2024/2025, identified under Solicitation ID: JN 545. Work is to be performed near 1700 W 162nd St, Gardena, CA 90247, USA in Los Angeles County.
General Project Description
The "Pedestrian Safety Improvement 2024/2025" project (JN 545) encompasses various civil construction activities at multiple locations within the City of Gardena. The primary objective is to enhance pedestrian safety through infrastructure upgrades. Key work items include the furnishing and installation of Portland Cement Concrete (P.C.C.) curb and gutter over new base material, P.C.C. sidewalks over re-compacted subgrade, and 6-inch P.C.C. residential and commercial driveways. The project also involves the removal and disposal of existing trees, stumps, and roots, as well as the removal and reconstruction of curb ramps to meet Caltrans and City standards. Incidental work covers project mobilization, implementation of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and Best Management Practices, adjustment of utility access covers to grade, saw cutting, excavation and disposal of materials, surveying, and traffic control. Additional work includes asphalt pavement removal, concrete removal, roadway surfacing (prime coat, tack coat, and asphalt concrete pavement), traffic striping and pavement markings using raised pavement markers, thermoplastic material, and curb paint, along with the protection and restoration of existing improvements.
