General Project Description
The City of Gilroy is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to develop a Comprehensive Roadway Safety Action Plan (CRSAP), also known as a Local Roadway Safety Plan (LRSP). This plan will establish a framework to systematically analyze and identify traffic safety issues, develop a prioritized list of traffic safety improvements using data-driven best practices, and integrate local agency partnerships and community feedback. The project aims to achieve a goal of zero roadway fatalities and serious injuries, supported by Safe Streets 4 All grant funding. The scope includes developing a work plan, conducting stakeholder and community engagement (public meetings, City Council presentations), reviewing background plans and policies to establish vision/goals/objectives, performing collision and roadway analysis to identify emphasis areas and countermeasures, prioritizing projects, developing conceptual design plans, cost estimates, and evaluation mechanisms, and submitting draft and final LRSPs.
