General Project Description

This project, IPWB NO. B26.005, involves rebuilding nursing infrastructure at Grossmont College. The work includes general construction and various specific upgrades. Key alternate bid items suggest removing and replacing existing CAT5 WAP cabling with new dual CAT6A cabling to six WAP locations, relocating and installing new medical gas tubing or piping for two recessed in-wall oxygen/gas supply hookup stations, and removing and replacing an existing storefront door and sidelight assembly system in room 34-171 with a new wider door and reduced sidelight. All associated plumbing, electrical, and finishing work (patching, repainting) are also part of the scope.

Quantity: - Unit: - Work Item: Removal and replacement of existing individual CAT5 WAP cabling runs above the ceiling with new dual CAT6A cabling to all six (6) WAP locations. Specifications: Furnish new CAT6A-rated RJ45 connectors at both ends of each cable, provide all labor and materials to fish, route, and terminate cabling back to Building 34 existing server room. Includes up to 300 LF of new CAT6A dual cabling runs per WAP location.
Quantity: 2 Unit: Each Work Item: Relocation of two existing recessed in-wall oxygen/gas supply recessed in-wall hookup stations. Specifications: Furnish and install new medical gas tubing or piping as needed to intercept and relocate all associated plumbing and finish work to re-land stations in kind to be near (within 5 ft.) of two new nursing bed locations. Includes all patching and repainting.
Quantity: 1 Unit: Each Work Item: Removal and replacement of one existing storefront door and sidelight assembly system with a new wider door and reduced sidelight. Specifications: Installed within the existing opening in room 34-171, includes all associated work to make a complete installation.
