Hayward City is seeking bids from qualified and interested contractors for the following project titled, 2025-2026 SEWER MANHOLE REHABILITATION PROJECT, identified under Solicitation ID: 26-025. Work is to be performed near 777 B St, Hayward, CA 94541, USA in Alameda County.
General Project Description
The City of Hayward is seeking a qualified contractor to perform sewer manhole rehabilitation services for 21 aging manhole structures within its sewer collection system. The project involves two primary categories of work: channelizing and rehabilitating manholes. Channelizing includes shaping or reconstructing the manhole bottom with cast-in-place structural concrete to ensure smooth wastewater flow. Rehabilitation involves applying a mortar and epoxy composite corrosion barrier system (lining) to the sanitary sewer manholes. The work includes comprehensive mobilization, traffic control, sewer bypassing and dewatering, and the specified rehabilitation and channelization of existing manholes. Some manholes are in streets, others in landscaped or unimproved easements on private property, requiring public notification and access coordination. All work must be performed without interrupting service to Hayward residents and is subject to City inspection and standards.

- Quantity: 1 Unit: LS Work Item: Mobilization/Demobilization. Includes all transportation, labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals to prepare the site, obtain bonds and insurance, prepare/resubmit submittals, schedule preparation, public notifications, cleaning, and site maintenance. Bid price not to exceed 5% of total bid.
- Quantity: 1 Unit: LS Work Item: Traffic Control. Includes all materials, equipment, labor, permits, and incidentals for public and worker safety, flagging, signing, Portable Changeable Message Signs, temporary signing, delineation, maintenance, and pedestrian safety. Only for work in traffic areas.
- Quantity: 1 Unit: LS Work Item: Sewer Bypassing and Flow Control. Includes design and provision of pumps and piping, operations, and incidentals to bypass flow around the work area and maintain sewer system operation as specified in Section 02145.
- Quantity: 10 Unit: EA Work Item: Rehabilitate Existing Sewer Manhole. Includes all materials, equipment, labor, and incidentals to rehabilitate manholes by applying a manhole lining as specified in Specification Section 02731, including surface preparation, lining application, curing, testing, and other incidentals.
- Quantity: 12 Unit: EA Work Item: Channelize Existing Sewer Manhole. Includes all materials, equipment, labor, and incidentals to channelize manholes as proposed by the Contractor and agreed upon by the City.
