General Project Description

This project involves the furnishing of all labor, equipment, materials, tools, services, and transportation necessary for the construction of an AQ1 Impressed Current Cathodic Protection system. The work includes the installation of a deep well anode bed, a rectifier assembly, and associated appurtenances. Key tasks encompass electrical installations, trench excavation and backfill, temporary paving, pavement repair, and traffic control, all in compliance with Water Agencies’ Standards Specifications and California Public Works & Civil Engineering Standards.

Quantity: 1 Unit: EA Work Item: Installation of rectifier assembly, Specifications: Universal air-cooled standard line model ASAI 40-25 or approved equal, 120/240 volt single phase AC input, 40 VDC 25 ADC output.
Quantity: 1 Unit: EA Work Item: Installation of AC meter pedestal, Specifications: 100A main breaker, 20A double pole breaker, 20A single pole breaker, Myers MEUG16-M100-SD or approved equal.

Quantity: 1 Unit: EA Work Item: Installation of shunt panel board, Specifications: Micarta, 1/4-inch thick, anode shunts and test/reference cell leads, double-nutted brass bolts, nuts, and lock washers per UL 486.
Quantity: 1 Unit: LS Work Item: Furnishing and installing copper or brass terminal lugs, Specifications: Per UL 486.
Quantity: 1 Unit: LS Work Item: Installation of wire cables and conductors, Specifications: Buried at 24-inch depth minimum, free of splices, aligned parallel to and within 2-inches of conduit/wire run.
Quantity: 1 Unit: LS Work Item: Burying warning tape, Specifications: 12-inches below grade and above underground conductors and conduits.
Quantity: 1 Unit: LS Work Item: Installation of conduits, Specifications: Secured with double locknuts (one outside, one inside) where entering anode junction box.
Quantity: 1 Unit: LS Work Item: Installation of watertight fittings, couplings, connections, and sealing unused openings for conduits and boxes.
Quantity: 1 Unit: LS Work Item: Trench excavation and backfill, Specifications: In accordance with Water Agencies’ Standards Specifications, sawcut edges to minimum 6” depth or ground, include disposal of existing materials and import of new backfill.
Quantity: 1 Unit: LS Work Item: Temporary paving, Specifications: Place daily upon backfilled trenches in paved areas, in accordance with Public Works Construction (Greenbook) Standards Specifications.
Quantity: 1 Unit: LS Work Item: Pavement repair, Specifications: Repair existing asphalt pavement damaged during construction, including trench resurfacing, replacement of striping and pavement legends.
Quantity: 1 Unit: LS Work Item: Traffic control, Specifications: In accordance with Agency(s) of Jurisdiction requirements and California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
