General Project Description

The City of Hemet is seeking a qualified Contractor to furnish all labor, equipment, tools, and materials to complete senior home repair projects that include extensive roofing work and basic safety improvements. The specific project identified involves the demolition of existing roofing, inspection and repair of decking, installation of new #30 LB felt, a 30-year dimensional Class A fire-rated composition shingle roof (owner selects color), installation of new drip edge, termination bars, and flashing, painting of vents and pipes, and new attic ventilation. The project also requires the installation of smoke detectors in each bedroom. All work must comply with current U.B.C. Code Chapter 15 and manufacturer standards. The contractor is responsible for all measurements, obtaining all permits, fees, and a City business license, and post-construction cleanup.

  • Quantity: 1  Unit: LS  Work Item: Painting – Paint all pipes and vents to match the new roof color.
  • Quantity: 1  Unit: LS  Work Item: Ventilation – Install new roof vents or a shingle-over ridge ventilation system, Specifications: as required by local codes and manufacturer guidelines to ensure proper attic ventilation.
  • Quantity: 1  Unit: LS  Work Item: Final Cleanup – Perform a thorough ground cleanup using magnets to pick up all nails and staples.
  • Quantity: 1  Unit: EA/bedroom  Work Item: Smoke Detector Installation – Install one smoke detector device at each bedroom.
