General Project Description
The project involves the rehabilitation of the wooden Alamo River Trestle Bridge (damaged by fire) in Holtville, transitioning it from railroad to pedestrian use. This will include replacing damaged structural bent timbers, cross beams, and other structural components, alongside the installation of a new bridge deck and railing for non-motorized users (pedestrians, bicycles, and equestrian traffic). Additionally, the project includes landscape improvements and a 636-foot extension of the Alamo River Trail. This Request for Proposals (RFP) specifically seeks Resident Engineering, Construction Management, and Inspection services for this project, funded by the California Natural Resources Agency and Proposition 68 Recreational Trails and Greenways Grant Program, along with local City funding.
