General Project Description
The Imperial County Department of Public Works (ICDPW) is seeking proposals from qualified professionals for on-call traffic engineering services. The goal is to establish multiple one-year contracts, with options for up to four additional one-year renewals, to provide intermittent assistance for local, state, or federally funded projects during peak workloads, staffing shortages, or for expedited support. The scope of work involves various traffic engineering tasks including site visits, speed data analysis, intersection control studies (stop signs and traffic signals), safety studies based on crash history, preparation and review of standard traffic details and specifications, plan checking for proposed private projects, and traffic design services (e.g., new traffic signals, modifications, sign installations, Intelligent Transportation Systems - ITS). Contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) and comply with prevailing wage laws.
