General Project Description

The project involves conducting a comprehensive bird survey for the Santa Ysabel Main & Canyon Water Storage Tank Repairs Project within the Iipay Nation of Santa Ysabel Reservation. The survey's primary purpose is to identify migratory birds, assess seasonal use for breeding, foraging, nesting, stopovers, or wintering, and evaluate potential risks of direct and indirect impacts to ensure compliance with the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA) and the Endangered Species Act (ESA). The scope includes reviewing existing information, performing ground reconnaissance and surveys of proposed ground disturbance areas, and providing a report detailing findings and recommended buffer zones if active nests are detected, utilizing qualified Avian, General, and Wildlife Biologists.
