General Project Description

This project consists of the replacement of existing roofing at the USDA - Arvin Sun Garden development. The scope includes the removal of existing roofing and the installation of new 30-year dimensional shingles, encompassing all necessary labor, tools, equipment, transportation, materials, fees, and permits. Specific work items include providing and installing architectural asphalt shingles, roofing underlayment, valley flashing, drip edge, hip and ridge cap shingles, and painting existing roof vents and jacks. The contractor is also required to provide a unit cost for replacing full sheets of sheathing.

General Bid Items

Quantity: - Unit: - Work Item: Provide and install Architectural, large tab design, granule surfaced, self-sealing asphalt shingle with a strong fiberglass reinforced Micro Weave core and Stain Guard protection. Specifications: GAF/ELK 30 high-definition shingles or pre-approved equal.
Quantity: - Unit: - Work Item: Provide and install #15 roofing underlayment. Specifications: Water repellent breather type cellulose fiber building paper; Meets or exceeds the requirements of ASTM D 4869 Type 1.
Quantity: - Unit: - Work Item: Provide and install 24 -gauge valley flashing and drip edge (rakes & eaves) prefinished. Specifications: Color to match roofing.
Quantity: - Unit: - Work Item: Provide and install distinctive self -sealing hip and ridge cap shingle. Specifications: Complementing the color of selected roof shingle.
Quantity: - Unit: - Work Item: Paint all existing roof vents and roof jacks. Specifications: To match new color of roofing.
Quantity: - Unit: - Work Item: Provide a unit cost to replace a full sheet of sheathing (Contractor shall request a roof inspection with Housing Authority staff to determine number of sheets to be replaced, if any).
