General Project Description
This project involves the replacement of the inbound gatehouse scale at the Bakersfield Metropolitan (Bena) Sanitary Landfill (Gatehouse #4). The contractor is required to provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals to complete the removal and hauling away of the existing mechanical cement pit truck scale to a County-operated landfill. The work also includes pouring new footings or piers, repairing coping and asphalt/concrete edging, installing a new heavy-duty steel deck scale within the existing pit, and performing all necessary testing and calibration of the new scale and existing indicators. The new scale must fit within the existing pit, and any new structural components (pillars, footings, framing, cement foundation) must match the new scale dimensions and integrate with the existing and surrounding environment.
