General Project Description

This project involves the removal and reconstruction of ADA-compliant sidewalks and access ramps at various locations within the City of Lawndale, funded by a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). The scope includes removal and replacement of existing sidewalks, curbs, gutters, cross gutters, and driveway approaches, along with all appurtenant work. Crucial elements include maintaining pedestrian and vehicular safety, requiring traffic control measures like signage and protective barriers. All replaced sidewalks and access ramps must be completed within 72 hours of removal and opened to the public before Friday. Contractors are required to comply with Build America, Buy America (BABAA) Act requirements for iron, steel, and manufactured construction materials if the federal funding for the project is $250k or greater.
