General Project Description
LAVTA is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) to solicit input from qualified vendors regarding real-time electronic Passenger Information Display solutions. The project aims to improve customer experience, enhance accessibility, and support future procurements for outdoor real-time passenger information displays to be mounted inside bus shelters, surface-mounted, or on free-standing poles across its service area in the Tri-Valley region (Dublin, Pleasanton, Livermore). The RFI seeks information on hardware, software, integration with existing CAD/AVL and GTFS-RT systems, power/installation options (AC, solar, battery backup), durability, content administration, accessibility features (ADA, Section 508 compliance, audio announcements), security, maintenance, and support for dynamic display of arrival data, service alerts, and other communications. This RFI will help LAVTA evaluate technologies, understand industry best practices, and shape future procurement strategies, including considerations for meeting Buy America requirements.
