Long Beach Unified School District is seeking bids from qualified and interested contractors for the following project titled, MDF/IDF SWITCH REPLACEMENT PROJECT (E-RATE FUNDING YEAR 2026), identified under Solicitation ID: 2526-007-RFP. Work is to be performed near 4400 Ladoga Ave room 29, Lakewood, CA 90713, USA in Los Angeles County.
General Project Description
The Long Beach Unified School District (LBUSD) is seeking a qualified vendor to replace aging Cisco core Main Distribution Frame (MDF) and Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) access switches at multiple school locations within the LBUSD boundaries. The project’s scope includes comprehensive tasks such as planning, collaboration, and implementation of new Cisco 9500 (MDF) and 9300 (IDF) switches. Work also involves system testing and verification, post-installation support, and remediation. This entails the physical removal and disposal of older switches (Cisco ASR, chassis-based core switches, Catalyst switches, UPS systems, XPS systems), integration of new switches with the existing LBUSD Cisco DNA appliance, and standardization of deployment methodologies, including thorough cable management (new MONOPRICE SLIMRUN CAT6A Ethernet Cables), cleanup of rack installations, and replacement of fiber patch cables and SFPs. All disruptive work must occur after school hours, and the contractor must provide a 90-day workmanship warranty.
