General Project Description
The City of Long Beach is seeking qualified demolition contractors for the comprehensive abatement, dismantling, and demolition of the Southeast Resource Recovery Facility (SERRF), a former waste-to-energy facility. The project encompasses hazardous materials abatement (including asbestos and lead-based paint), removal of other regulated materials, utility decoupling, acquisition of necessary permits, demolition engineering, onsite demolition, and ensuring construction safety. Additionally, the scope involves proper waste management, maximizing recycling of materials like metal, wood, and concrete, site cleanup, and preparing the land for future redevelopment in compliance with environmental regulations.
