General Project Description

This project involves the construction of a new 780 SF Type V-A, full sprinklered building for the Malibu Community Labor Exchange Center. The comprehensive scope includes all interior and exterior finishes, a restroom, ADA compliant facilities, and extensive sitework such as parking lot and landscape development. Utility connections to existing infrastructure, including sewer, water, and electrical, are required. Additional work encompasses all structural components (foundation, framing), carpentry, a standing beam metal roof, fire sprinkler system, HVAC installation, and the construction of a masonry trash enclosure. Project activities also involve selective demolition, earthwork, grading, excavation, trenching, backfilling, compaction, traffic control, video recording of existing conditions, stormwater pollution prevention (SWPPP) implementation, and detailed record-keeping for construction changes. The project is funded in part by Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and requires strict adherence to HUD Section 3 requirements, Build America, Buy America Act (BABAA), and California prevailing wage laws.
