General Project Description

This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) invites design-build entities to modernize two existing electric traction elevators at the Grossmont Transit Center. The elevators, installed between 2010 and 2013, have exceeded their useful life and require rehabilitation to a like-new and code-compliant state. The project also includes the design and construction of a new elevator machine room adjacent to the stair tower, meeting current code requirements, and proposed architectural improvements to the stair tower to enhance customer experience. All work must be performed while maintaining continuous Bus and Trolley station operations and customer access, potentially requiring temporary stairs or walkways.
