General Project Description

This construction contract involves permanent improvements to the F. E. Weymouth Water Treatment Plant's Administration and Control Buildings. The scope includes seismic upgrades through concrete strengthening and micropile foundation improvements, installation of new reinforced concrete shear walls, and repair work in the 12' x 15' effluent channel during shutdowns. Mechanical and electrical system upgrades are required, alongside the creation of new offices and a water quality laboratory. The project also entails temporary staff and support facilities, protection and restoration of historic features, hazardous materials abatement (including asbestos, lead, and coal tar), fire protection alarm modifications, and elevator improvements.
