General Project Description

The project involves the construction of the Bear Creek Redwoods Preserve North Parking Area, approximately 1.5 acres in size. The scope includes the creation of 6 equestrian trailer parking spaces on permeable concrete, 44 vehicular parking spaces, an asphalt ingress/egress drive from Bear Creek Road supported by a soldier pile retaining wall, bioretention areas, stabilized decomposed granite pedestrian walkways, and trailhead amenities such as a 2-stall vault restroom, signage, seating, and bike racks. The work also includes general conditions, mobilization, SWPPP implementation, traffic control, tree removal and protection, clearing and grubbing, earthwork grading, concrete paving (vertical curb, flush curb, permeable concrete), soldier pile wall construction, striping, detectable warning surfaces, traffic signs, storm drainage (manholes, inlets, cleanouts, perforated and solid storm drains, culverts), granite boulders placement, earthen swales, planting (standard, bioretention), seeding, restroom preparation and installation, benches, picnic tables, interpretive and trailhead signage, boot brushes, mounting blocks, bike racks, hitching posts, preserve entry signs, stabilized decomposed granite pathways, Corten steel edging, asphalt pavement, wheel stops, mountable curbs, no parking signs, and electrical work including an electric vehicle gate.
