General Project Description

This project involves the construction of two (2) new sewer manholes over existing sewers at the intersection of Westminster Boulevard and Springdale Street. The scope includes the removal of conflicting existing 8-inch VCP sewer pipe and the construction of two (2) 48-inch diameter PVC-lined manholes. Key requirements include protecting existing utilities, coordinating with utility owners, shoring, dewatering, maintaining existing sewer flows during construction, traffic control (including traffic loop detector replacement and raised pavement marker installation), pavement resurfacing, and slurry seal application. The project also entails various base bid items for mobilization, site investigation, safety measures, spoil disposal, and trench bedding.
