Modesto City is seeking bids from qualified and interested contractors for the following project titled, Retroreflective Backplates, LED Stop Signs Installation, Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB), identified under Solicitation ID: 2026-09. Work is to be performed near 1010 10th St, Modesto, CA 95354, USA in Stanislaus County.
General Project Description
This project involves the installation of traffic safety enhancements including retroreflective backplates, LED stop signs, and rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFB) at various locations within the City of Modesto. The extensive scope covers the removal and salvage of existing traffic signal components, furnishing and installing new signal indications with various retroreflective border backplates (ball, arrow, louvers, flashing yellow), bike signals, and associated mounting assemblies. It also includes the removal and installation of new overhead signs. General civil work such as clearing, grubbing, mobilization, demolition (existing concrete, trees, traffic stripes, pavement markers), earthwork (roadway excavation, soil handling including aerially deposited lead, hazardous materials management), street construction (potholing, sawcut, disposal of excavated materials, aggregate base, hot mix asphalt, concrete curbs, gutters, sidewalks, detectable warning surfaces, foundations), and street lighting electrical work (conduit, wiring, grounding, foundations, submittals, materials, coordination, measurement and payment) are required. Furthermore, the project encompasses signals and signal electrical systems, including advanced transportation controllers (ATC), pedestrian signals, push buttons, luminaires, photoelectric controls, detectors, signal wiring, pull boxes, detector handholes, signs, and battery backup systems. Traffic control, barricades, pavement markings, and monument preservation are also integral bid items. Compliance with various federal and state regulations, including Buy America requirements and prevailing wage laws, is mandatory. The project will utilize the e-builder Project Management Information System for document management and workflow.
