General Project Description

This project involves the rehabilitation of pavement on Coffee Road, including grind and overlay within existing facilities, the addition of three mid-block crosswalks, curb ramps, and upgrades to bike facilities. The work encompasses traffic control, demolition (concrete, signs, pavement markers, tree trimming), street construction (sawcut, cold plane asphalt concrete, aggregate base, pothole utilities), earthwork (clearing, grubbing, subgrade, roadway excavation, lead compliance), adjustment of various utility covers to grade, installation/maintenance of signal and electrical systems (including solar bi-directional rapid flashing beacons), and signing, striping, and pavement markings (including thermoplastic traffic stripes and street colorized coating for bicycle lanes and bus stop areas), as well as an asphalt rubber chip seal preservation system. The contractor must coordinate work near Thomas Downey High School during summer break.
