General Project Description
The City of Monterey is seeking proposals from qualified firms specializing in on-call traffic signal maintenance and related services. The selected firm(s) will provide routine preventative maintenance, scheduled repairs, and emergency response for the City's traffic signal systems, street lights, communications, lighting systems, lighted crosswalks, radar speed feedback signs, rectangular rapid flashing beacons, flashing beacons, and fiber optic network. The scope includes emergency repairs, non-emergency routine preventative maintenance, scheduled repairs, new equipment upgrades, installation work, and ad-hoc electrical tasks. The firm will be responsible for operations and maintenance of 56 traffic signals, 24 radar speed feedback signs, 6 rectangular rapid flashing beacon systems, 6 flashing beacons, 1,742 streetlights, and an adaptive SCOOT system on arterial corridors. Work involves troubleshooting electrical and communication systems, performing Underground Service Alerts, and adhering to California MUTCD standards for traffic control.
