Monterey County is seeking bids from qualified and interested contractors for the following project titled, Litter Abatement Services, identified under Solicitation ID: RFP #10956. Work is to be performed near 1441 Schilling Pl, Salinas, CA 93901, USA in Monterey County.

General Project Description

The County of Monterey Department of Public Works, Facilities and Parks (PWFP) is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors for comprehensive litter abatement services throughout Monterey County, California. The project aims to collect and dispose of illegal dumping, including household, commercial, and industrial waste, on County roads, public rights-of-way, and public lands. The scope includes waste collection, illegal dumping mitigation, and extraordinary services like homeless encampment debris removal. Contractors must adhere to local, State, and Federal regulations, provide all necessary labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision, and perform on-call services for debris removal. This also includes handling hazardous materials transportation in compliance with regulations and providing safety measures for all personnel involved in the litter cleanup operations.

General Bid Items

  • Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Adherence to "Part 6, Temporary Traffic Control" of the CA-MUTCD for safe work zone devices (e.g., traffic control signage, cones).

  • Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Transportation and disposal of hazardous materials (i.e., oil, antifreeze, insecticide) and biohazards (i.e., needles, syringes, blood-soaked items) in strict compliance with applicable State, Federal, and local laws and regulations (SARA Title III, RCRA, DOT hazardous materials regulations, California HMT statutes and regulations).
