Morgan Hill City is seeking bids from qualified and interested contractors for the following project titled, REBID - Fire Protection Sprinkler Inspection, Testing & Maintenance, identified under Solicitation ID: CSD-2026-011. General Project Description

The City of Morgan Hill is seeking proposals from qualified California Contractor State Licensing Board (CSLB) C-16 licensed fire protection contractors to provide comprehensive fire protection sprinkler system inspection, testing, and maintenance services for various city facilities. The scope of services, to be performed under the 2013 edition of NFPA 25 (California Edition) as amended in Chapter 80 of the 2022 California Fire Code, is strictly for fire sprinkler systems. The contractor will supply all labor, equipment, materials, parts, tools, and supervision, ensuring adherence to industry practices and manufacturer specifications to facilitate proactive preventive maintenance and maximize equipment life. The contract has an anticipated two-year term with potential for up to three one-year extensions.

  • Quantity: 6  Unit: LS  Work Item: Quarterly Inspections of fire protection sprinkler systems. Specifications: Includes visual inspection of automatic sprinkler systems, control valves (identification sign & inspection), waterflow alarm devices, supervisory devices, gauges (wet pipe system), water supply pressure below/above riser check, pressure readings acceptable, hydraulic design information sign, general information sign, heat tap, spare sprinkler, fire department connections, alarm valves (exterior inspection), pressure reducing valves, backflow preventers, small hose connections (hose valve), and PRV – Fire sprinkler system. Special: Quarterly inspection of backflow preventers is required even if not specified by NFPA25, 2013 CA Edition.
  • Quantity: 1  Unit: LS  Work Item: Annual Inspections of fire protection sprinkler systems. Specifications: Includes all quarterly inspection items, plus visual inspection of sprinklers, building freeze protection, pipe & fittings, hangers, seismic braces. Testing of field service test, recall sprinklers, water flow alarm devices, main drain test, control valve position, control valve operation, supervisory devices, backflow preventer assemblies, small hose connections with PRV hose valves / partial flow test. Maintenance of control valves, small hose connections, obstruction investigation (not internal), and system returned to service.
  • Quantity: 1  Unit: LS  Work Item: Five-Year Inspection of fire protection sprinkler systems. Specifications: Includes all quarterly and annual inspection items, plus testing of pressure gauges calibration, small hose connections. Maintenance of check valves (internal inspection), FDC – Backflush, and internal pipe inspection.
  • Quantity: 30  Unit: HR  Work Item: Sprinkler System Service Technician, Specifications: Standard Business Hours (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
  • Quantity: 8  Unit: HR  Work Item: Sprinkler System Service Technician, Specifications: Overtime (Monday-Friday, 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. and Saturdays).
  • Quantity: 2  Unit: HR  Work Item: Sprinkler System Service Technician, Specifications: Double Overtime (Sundays and Holidays).
  • Quantity: 30  Unit: HR  Work Item: Suppression System Service Technician, Specifications: Standard Business Hours (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
